The MARITIME CAREER MENTORSHIP PROGRAM (M-CAMP): is an interactive mentoring platform and career guidance initiative designed to bring maritime students, cadets, aspiring and young maritime professionals face to face with industry experts for the purpose of mentorship, transfer of practical industry knowledge and provision of career guidance in a way that guarantees succession plan for the sustainable growth of the maritime industry.
The brand was birthed in June 2016 by Platforms Communications as an offshoot of AMSAY Conference to specifically meet the career mentoring needs of the industry with the following objectives in mind:
I. To mentor and groom up-coming maritime professionals.
II. Provide adequate career guidance for maritime students and up-coming maritime professionals.
III. Equip students and young maritime professionals with industry-based practical knowledge
IV. And position them for success as future leaders of the industry.
SCOPE/FREQUENCY: M-CAMP holds four times in a year on selected days in every quarter of the year for different students of various fields of maritime studies. The quarterly schedule is as follows:
First Quarter: For Maritime Law Students and young maritime law practitioners.
Second Quarter: For all Maritime Students and cadets during AMSAY Conference
Third Quarter: For maritime students that study commercial and management courses like freight forwarding, shipping management, transport and logistics, port management, maritime transportation and business studies and the likes.
Fourth Quarter: For seafaring students that study Marine Engineering, Nautical Sciences, Maritime Security, including young officers and ratings.
