How SS2 Student Won Scholarship During Maritime Career Talk Held By FOMI

Precisely on July 2nd 2025, the Face of Maritime Queen, Miss Roselyn Olanisimi led the Girls Go-To-Sea Campaign team to Anglican Comprehensive High School, Ipaja-Lagos where it held maritime career talk for the students with a view to encouraging them especially their female students to consider taking a  career at sea.

It was a successful outing, thanks to Capt Rotimi William Ogunsakin, CEO, Jikolat Global Investment Ltd  and Engr Glory Omeaku, Chief Engineer, LTT Coastal and Marine Services Ltd who both delivered career talks, mentored and motivated the students.

Special thanks to Engr Glory Omeaku of L.T.T who offered to pay the next term school fees of Agu Gold, an SS2 female student who during the interactive questions and answers session, brilliantly quoted the law of flotation to explain why a ship could run on water without sinking, and thus won the heart of Engr Glory and moved her to make the donation.

Platform Reporters gathered that already, Engr Glory has paid the sum #255,000 as her tuition fee for next term.

Recall that on 25 February 2025, when the Girls Go-To-Sea campaign team visited Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls at Oregun, Ikeja; Capt Sunday Umoren similarly gave our 100 dollars (50 dollar each) to two students who answered his questions correctly during the interactive session.

Platform Reporters gathered that the Girls Go-To-Sea Campaign train also visited the popular Queens College Yaba on July 4th, 2025 as FOMI continues to inspire the next generation of women to take maritime by storm and be the best they can, echoing the slogan, “maritime is not only for men”!
