Face Of Maritime International (FOMI) has auditioned the candidates aspiring to contest in the 2025 edition of the maritime industry pageantry; even as it has also unveiled the central theme of Season 10 as “Beauty For Impacts”.
Platform Reporters gathered that Virtual audition which was held on Wednesday featured profiling of contestants, audition pep talks and casting.
In his opening remarks during the audition, the Executive Director of FOMI and Chairman of Girls Go-To-Sea Campaign Initiative, Mr Sylvanus Obasi said the 2025 edition of the pageantry is unique as it marks the 10th Anniversary of the maritime industry pageant.

The Audition featured the following Guest Speakers: Dr Taiwo & Kehinde Oshigbo, Maritime Consultant/Lecturer who spoke on the topic titled, “Introduction To Maritime”; Queen Halima Abbey, Former Miss South-South who spoke on “The Place of Pageantry In Self Development of Young Ladies”.
Other Guest Speakers included Barr Obiageli Obi, Lawyer, Certified Sustainable Supply Chain Professional (CSSCP) and Former DG, Nigerian Chamber of Shipping who spoke on “Pageantry: A Dive Into Self Discovery, Self Awareness & Leadership”; and Hajia Lami Tumaka, PR Expert, Motivational Speaker and Former Director of Special Duties, NIMASA who spoke on the central theme of FOMI Season 10 tagged, “Beauty For Impacts”.

The Audition also had outstanding personalities as members of the Panel of Judges who helped in the screening and assessment of contestants’s performance during the audition casting.
The Judges were Michael Young, TV Host; Queen Melissa Uzoigwe: 2019 FOMI Queen; Simon Raphael Edo: Caltwalk Trainer/Pageant Director; Ifunanya Emmanuella Igbobi: CEO, Weckx Design Int’l and Busola Olu: Film-Maker & Lecture.
Speaking to newsmen after the Audition, the FOMI Director, Mr Obasi revealed that about 50 candidates registered to be part of the contest this year. He stated that the List of those who pass the Audition would be shortlisted on Saturday, Augusy 9, 2025.
He added that only those who pass the audition will go on with the competition by partaking in the first preliminary tasks of the contest scheduled to begin on Sunday, August 10, 2025.

Recall that Face Of Maritime International (FOMI) is a maritime industry pageant of international standards which uses beauty queens as role models to advocate greater participation of women in maritime careers. FOMI is a brand of Girls Go-To-Sea Campaign Initiative, a non-governmental, non-profit organization that champions gender exclusivity and women empowerment in the maritime industry.
FOMI was founded in July 2016 with the following aims and objectives:
