Mr Mike Igbokwe a Senior Advocate of Nigeria has emerged the new President of the Nigerian Maritime Law Association following the election of a New Executive Committee by the foremost body of maritime lawyers at its 16th Annual General Meeting held recently in Lagos.
In a press statement made available to Platform Reporters, the Nigerian Maritime Law Association (NMLA), an affiliate of the CMI, announced the successful election of a new Executive Committee after its 16th Annual General Meeting held on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
Platform Reporter gathered that the newly elected leadership team will steer the Association into the next phase of its mission to promote the advancement of maritime law and practice in Nigeria.
Members of the new Executive Committee elected to serve are: President: Mr. Mike Igbokwe, SAN, FCArb, FBR; 1st Vice President: Professor Adewale Adedamola Olawoyin, SAN, FCIArb; 2nd Vice President: Dr. Emeka Akabogu, SAN; Honorary Secretary: Mrs. Nneka Obianyor, FCArb.
Others include the Assistant Secretary: Mr. ‘Nonso Azih; Treasurer: Chief Omolola Ikwuagwu FCIArb; Financial Secretary: Ms Kashimana Tsumba; and Publicity Secretary: Mrs. Mojisola Jaiye-Gbenle.

The NMLA extends its heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected Executive Committee.
