The Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) has formally endorsed a 20 Days of Eloquence, tagged, ‘Nigeria Speaks to the World‘, a Guinness World Record attempt for the world’s longest continuous public speaking relay by Mr Ubong Essien which is scheduled to hold from April 1 to April 21, 2026.
The endorsement follows a formal presentation made to the Director-General of ARCON by Ubong Essien, CSP, West Africa’s only Certified Speaking Professional (CSP), Dean of the School of Eloquence, and initiator of the 20 Days of Eloquence project, who led his team on a courtesy and project briefing visit.
During the meeting, Ubong Essien outlined the vision behind the initiative as a national convergence of voices designed to bring Nigerians together to speak to the world, advance the value of public speaking and eloquence, and showcase Nigeria’s intellectual depth, diversity, and shared values on a global stage.
He explained that 20 Days of Eloquence is also a commemorative national project marking 20 years of the School of Eloquence, Nigeria’s foremost public speaking and communication training institution, which has been at the forefront of promoting clarity, confidence, ethical communication, and effective public expression across sectors.
The Director-General of ARCON, Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, in response, received the initiative positively and affirmed that the project aligns with Nigeria’s regulatory standards for advertising, public communication, and responsible audience engagement. He described the initiative as a positive national platform that promotes message integrity, civic participation, and ethical communication, and granted institutional endorsement for the project.

With ARCON serving as Official Regulatory & Standards Endorser, 20 Days of Eloquence is now positioned as a nationally validated civic communication initiative, offering assurance to public institutions, corporate partners, broadcasters, and international observers regarding its compliance with national standards.
Conceived and produced by the School of Eloquence, 20 Days of Eloquence – Nigeria Speaks to the World will feature Nigerians from all walks of life delivering continuous speeches in a relay format over 20 consecutive days, symbolically passing the microphone as a baton of ideas, responsibility, and national voice. The event is expected to attract significant national and global attention by virtue of its Guinness World Record status and its unique focus on eloquence, civic expression, and nation branding through spoken word.
