ACG Babandede Inspires Officers During Strategic Visit To KLT Customs Command

The Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service on Wednesday, 4th February 2026, hosted the Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs in charge of Zone A, Mohammed Babandede, on a strategic operational visit aimed at improving efficiency and service delivery within the Command.

PLATFORM REPORTERS gathered that the Acting Customs Area Controller of the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Area Command, Deputy Comptroller Bolaji Lukman Adigun, warmly received ACG Babandede and his team. In his welcome remarks, Deputy Comptroller Adigun expressed the Command’s gratitude for the visit, describing it as timely and motivating. He stated the Command’s commitment to revenue generation, enforcement, and trade facilitation, pledging to align all activities with the broader vision of the Nigeria Customs Service.

Addressing officers, ACG Babandede highlighted the importance of discipline, dedication, integrity and teamwork in performing their duties. He encouraged officers to stay vigilant, adapt to evolving trade and border management challenges, follow procedures diligently, and promote innovation and accountability in all operations.

During the visit, ACG Babandede reviewed revenue operations, enforcement activities, and stakeholder engagement. He interacted with officers, observed daily operations, and provided guidance on strengthening performance and service delivery.

Deputy Comptroller Adigun described the visit as a defining moment for the Command, noting that the ACG’s advice and observations would help sharpen operational focus and enhance service standards. He assured that the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Area Command would continue to improve its operations, support the objectives of the Nigeria Customs Service, and safeguard the national economy while facilitating legitimate trade.
