Nothing Will Stop It If God Says FOMI Crown Is Mine – Mira

The Auchi born indigene of Edo state, Mira Hafsah Idididi is a young lady who believes so much in God and so much in herself. This is her strongest weapon and she’s using it very potently as a contestant in the ongoing maritime industry pageantry, Face of Maritime International (FOMI).

Mira came third and fifth in the Audition Photo Challenge and Week One Voting Campaign respectively, but won week two voting campaign comfortably. In this media chat with PLATFORM REPORTERS, the Abuja-based model seems to be stopping at nothing in ensuring that her dream of Winning FOMI 2024 is realised. She also drops a deep message for her fellow contestants, emphasizing the importance of prayer in a competition like this. Enjoy the excerpts:

PLATFORM REPORTERS: Let’s meet you

MIRA: My name is Mira Hafsah Idididi. I am a native of Auchi in Edo state, but I reside in Abuja where I am currently working.

PLATFORM REPORTERS: What motivated you to register in FOMI Season 9?

MIRA: I see Face Of Maritime International as a dream come true as it has always been my biggest dream to be a fashionista and a fashion model. I choose face of maritime international (FOMI) because it’s not just about pageantry but one can also learn more about the sea.

PLATFORM REPORTERS: Which maritime organisation are you representing and why did you chose to rep that particular Organisation?

MIRA: I am representing Federal Ministry Of Marine And Blue Economy (FMMBE).

I’m representing them because it’s a new ministry with a mandate to promote, harness and optimize Nigeria’s marine and blue economy potential. Hence, I wish to align myself with this mandate especially in the aspect of social media campaign to sensitize the youth on how to explore and tap the opportunities that the blue economy offers.

PLATFORM REPORTERS: How was the Online Audition for you. I mean the Audition Talks, the Casting and the rest. What was the experience like for you?

MIRA: The audition talks and the casting was very interesting for me and I enjoyed it because of the wonderful speech Mrs Sarah Robert and Mrs Funmilayo Olotu gave us. I learnt a lot from them. Mrs Funmilayo Olotu talked about giving your beauty a meaning and the five E’s principles of life which she listed as:

Education, Experience, Exposure, Experiment and Expectation.

She also redefined the meaning of beauty using this formula:

B- be Brilliant and Bold

E- Elevate yourself

A- Attract the right content

U- be Unique and Uncommon in your style

T- be Timely in all assignments

Y- Yield to instructions.

She also said never use your gender as an excuse to under perform. That really caught my attention.

PLATFORM REPORTERS: We learnt you won #5,000 at the Audition. Tell us more about it.

MIRA: I won five thousand naira at the audition because I was bold enough to express my feelings towards Mrs Sarah Robert and Mrs Funmilayo Olotu’s speeches and advice. So they were impressed and Mrs Sarah Robert gifted us Thirty Thousand Naira. We were six in number and each of us got Five Thousand Naira each.

I was really happy because I got a replacement for the money I used to register in FOMI. The fact about the whole thing is that I wasn’t expecting it and I’m grateful. God bless Mr’s Sarah Robert.

PLATFORM REPORTERS: How do you feel winning the Week Two Voting Campaign?

MIRA: I was so excited wining the week two voting campaign. It was by the Grace of God that I was able to win in week two since I couldn’t make it in week one. I am not saying I’m going to win the week three voting campaign but if  Almighty say so I’m definitely going to take the lead because I believe in God and myself. We humans we plan and God execute, I thank God for everything my efforts were not a waste.

PLATFORM REPORTERS: You came third in the Photo Challenge and also came fifth in Week One Voting Campaign. How did you feel when you saw those results?

MIRA: Seeing those results always motivate me to put in more effort to do more and to take anything I’m doing serious, giving up was never an option for me.

PLATFORM REPORTERS: Do you plan to go out of your way to also retain your lead in this Week Three Voting Campaign or you just want to maintain top five position going forward?

MIRA: My plan is to retain my lead in week three voting Campaign I believe in myself and I know God will see me through in all I do.

PLATFORM REPORTERS: What’s your message to other contestants who didn’t do so well in either the Photo Challenge or the Week One and Two of the Voting Campaign?

MIRA: My message to my fellow contestants is simple: Never give up in whatever you are doing, enjoy the pains of life, keep it real and let success speak for you. Always think positively. You don’t have to go astray for somebody to do certain things for you. Do whatever is right and don’t forget to be prayerful.

PLATFORM REPORTERS: Finally, winning this pageant is like running a marathon because the tasks and activities are in stages. So how prepared are you to go all the way and how determined are you to win the crown in the long run?

MIRA: I always have faith and hope in God and I believe He is going to make a way. What I’m trying to say is that my efforts can’t go unrewarded. So if God have assigned the crown to be mine nothing is stoping it.
