The race for who becomes the next Face Of Maritime International (FOMI) has just begun as the organisers open Registration portal for interested candidates who want to contest in the popular maritime industry pageantry.
According to the organisers press statement over the weekend, PLATFORM REPORTERS gathered that Five million Naira worth of deals is up for grab for the three lucky winners who would be crowned queens.
Recall that the current Face Of Maritime International, Queen Adaeze Charlyn Udom, an indigene of Oguta LGA of Imo State is a staff of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) who was sponsored into the competition by NIWA.
Adaeze holds Bsc and Msc on Policy and Strategic Studies from Convenant University. She is also a certified Educational Leader from Harvard University, Boston, USA. The current FOMI Queen stands 6ft tall and has written 4 books, two of which centred on Education, one on Entrepreneurship, and the other, a collection of poems.
As registration for season 9 opens, maritime agencies, companies and organisations can register and sponsor one of their staff as a candidate to represent them in the maritime beauty contest. Interested individuals, models, young ladies of 18-28 years with or without maritime background are mostly welcome.
The Winner of Face Of Maritime International (FOMI) will champion Girls Go-To-Sea Campaign (GGOTSEC) program as pet project during her one year reign in addition to carrying out other social campaigns for the organization that sponsored her to victory.
GGOTSEC is a catch-them-young program designed to encourage young ladies and secondary school girls to take maritime career path in order to bridge the gender gap in the maritime sector.
