The Secretary-General, African Shipowners Association (ASA) and Principal Partner, Excel Law Chambers, Ms Funmi Folorunsho will play a motherly role as Mother of the Day for the upcoming 2024 AMSAY Conference slated for May 27.
Folorunsho, a lawyer and maritime consultant will bring her wealth of experience to bear while addressing the students and participants at the occasion as a Mother.
During the opening session, the Former Nigerian Registrar of Ships and current Nigeria’s AFCTA Co-Champion for Transportation Sector will share her thoughts with the audience on the theme of the Conference entitled, “Exploring Holistic Approach Towards Solving the Challenges of Nigerian Maritime Students/Cadets”.
She is also expected to provide motherly advice to the students on how best to navigate their careers amidst numerous challenges facing the sector.
Ms Folorunsho is a woman of many firsts:
1st Director General of the Indigenous Shipowners Association;
1st Executive Secretary of Nigerian Maritime Expo (NIMAREX),
1st President and member the Board of Women’s International Shipping and Trade Association (WISTA) Nigeria Branch;
1st Secretary General of Association of African Shipowners
Recall that the 2024 AMSAY Conference also known as ‘A Day With Nigerian Maritime Students’ is a yearly program organised by Platforms Communications. This year’s edition which coincides with Platforms 10th Anniversary is scheduled to hold on May 27, 2024 at the Auditorium of Nigerian Institute of Medical Research, Yaba Lagos.
