Normal business activities have resumed today at Lekki Freeport Terminal after the Nigerian Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress called off the strike for 5 days to allow a conclusive negotiations with the federal government which has accepted to pay an amount higher than the sixty thousand Naira it earlier proposed as national minimum wage.
In a message sent to its customers and stakeholders early this morning, a copy of which was made available to Platform Reporters, the terminal operators said “Dear Esteemed Customer, We are pleased to inform you that regular day-to-day counter operations at the Lekki Freeport Terminal has resumed.
“We appreciate your patience and cooperation during the strike period. Your partnership is highly valued, and we remain committed to providing you with support and reliable services”.
Recall that the Freeport Terminal operators have on Monday informed the general public and its customers that it would suspend its regular day-to-day counter operations due to the strike action.
