A maritime practitioner and Assistant Director, Operations of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Bashir Ambi-Mohammed has bagged doctorate degree in Mass Communication with specialty in Public Relations and Media Technology at the Lead City University, Ibadan.
Dr. Bashir Alhassan Ambi-Mohammed is a man of his words, an anti-fake life and enthusiastic fellow. A trained Mass Communicator, International Transport professional and a Certified Alternative Disputes Resolutions Professional.
He holds Degree in Mass Communication from the University of Maiduguri in 1995, Master of Science Degree in Mass Communication obtained from the Lagos State University, Ojo in 2004, another Master’s of Science Degree in International Transport from Cardiff Business School, Cardiff University, United Kingdom in 2011, Master’s in Philosophy (MPHIL) in Mass Communication and Media Technology in Mass Communication and Ph. D from the Lead City University, Ibadan, Nigeria,
Dr. Bashir had his mandatory National Service (NYSC) in Ogun State in 1995-1996, where he was posted to NNPC/PPMC Mosimi, Shagamu. He was one of the recipients of the Ogun State NYSC Merit Award Winners given by the then Military Administrator of the state, Wing Cmdr. Sam Ewang with an Employment attached.
He started his working career with the NNPC/Pipelines Products Marketing Company (PPMC) Mosimi, where he was later transferred to the off-shore at PPMC Depot, Atlas Cove Depot, Tarkwa Bay, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Dr. Ambi joined the services of the Nigerian Shippers Council in the year 2000 as a Public Relations Officer, he is currently an Assistant Director (Operations), he was later posted to worked as the Personal Assistant to the then Chairman of the NSC Governing Board, Late Dr. Hassan Muhammad Lawal, the Former Minister of Labour, Works and Housing & Supervisory Minister of Health. He worked closely and successfully throughout his tenure. He also worked as P/A successfully with another Governing Board Chairman, Alh. Ali Olanusi, the former Deputy Governor of Ondo State.

Dr was later posted to worked with the former Executive Secretary/CEO of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Capt. Adamu A. Biu (A master Mariner), may God have mercy on his soul. He worked with him very closely, with utmost trust and confidence throughout the ES/CEO’s 2-term tenure.
He was later posted as Maritime Officer in Complaints Unit, Consumer Affairs Department, posted back to Complaints Unit as an Operations Officer. Currently Dr. Bashir is the Head, Complaints Unit of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council.
To solidify his professional competence, he attended numerous courses in and outside the Country, include the one he personally sponsored himself at Pacific Institute, London, UK. He attended courses and received certificates in Leadership and Personal Effectiveness in Wales-UK
He held different positions of trust and responsibilities, few among are the General Secretary of NSC Cooperative, the President (2-term) of NSC Staff Cooperatives where he was able to waxed the funds of the Cooperative from N30,442,770.89 in January to 19th 2017 to N420,615,452.00 in 2021.
Dr. is currently running his 2nd term as the Chairman, Lagos State Branch of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT-NIG), he is also the current Chairman of Publicity Committee of CILT Nig. He is also the current General Secretary of Lagos State Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) LAPRIGA 2024 Awards.
He is a pioneer Editor-In-Chief, Complaints Newsletter of the Council and current Chairman, Editorial Board, a member of NSC Junior Staff Disciplinary Committee, A member of Automated Container Indemnity Clearing House System Implementation Committee in Nigeria, recipient of several awards for hard work, few amongst were; NSC ACTU/ICPC Integrity Award, NSC CEO Award, CILT Nig. President’s Annual Awards (2023 & 2024), CILT International President’s Award (2024), etc.
Bashir has published academic journals (local& Int’l), is also a member of the following professional bodies; Fellow, Chartered Institute of Ttransport and logistics (FCILT), Member, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (MNIPR) awaiting the confirmation of his Fellow of the NIPR very soon. He is a certified Member of the Alternative Disputes Resolutions (ADR).
He is a holder of traditional titles of the Jakadan Awe (Envoy) as well as the Ubandoman Majidadin Bauchi (a senior Councillor in the court of the Majidadi of Bauchi).
He likes reading, horse riding, jokes, positive innovations, truthfulness, and dislikes eye service, fake life, greed, eavesdropping, corruption and cheating
