The President, Nigerian Chapter of Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA), Dr Mrs Odunayo Ani has felicitated Nigerian dockworkers as a way of joining the global maritime community to celebrate dockworkers for their contributions towards global trade.
In a felicitation message delivered at the occasion of 2024 Dockworkers Day, organised by the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) on Wednesday in Lagos, Dr Odunayo commended Nigerian dockworkers for their hard-work and dedication to duties.
According to her, “On this special day, we celebrate the hard work and dedication of dockworkers everywhere. Remember: “Safety First, Efficiency Always”.
“Your commitment to both safety and productivity ensures smooth operations and a secure work environment for all. Thank you for your tireless efforts and the crucial role you play in keeping the world moving forward

“This 2024 Day of the Dockworkers, we take a moment to honor the incredible work you do and the vital role you play in our global economy. As the backbone of the logistics and shipping industries, your expertise and tireless effort ensure that goods reach their destinations safely and on time.
“This year’s theme—Safety First, Efficiency Always—reminds us of the delicate balance you maintain every day. Your unwavering commitment to safety, through careful planning, teamwork, and attention to detail, ensures that each day at the dock is as secure as it is productive. But it’s not just about safety; it’s about working smart and fast, maximizing productivity without ever compromising on quality or well-being.
Speaking further, the Maritime Amazon described dockworkers as unsung heroes whose crucial roles in keeping global economy flowing cannot be overemphasized.

“You are the unsung heroes who make global trade possible, keeping everything from essential goods to critical supplies flowing around the world. Your diligence in ensuring that operations are smooth, efficient, and safe is what allows businesses and communities to thrive.
