Okorefe To Deliver Keynote Speech At Primetime Reporters’ Annual Lecture, Awards

LAGOS – Former lecturer at the Nigerian Maritime University, NMU, Okerenkoko, Dr. Charles Okorefe, will deliver the keynote lecture at the 2026 Primetime Reporters’ Annual Lecture and Awards scheduled for October 15 in Lagos.

The annual lecture will bring together key stakeholders across maritime, ports, logistics and blue economy sectors to deliberate on critical issues shaping Nigeria’s maritime industry.

The 2026 edition is themed: _“Smarter Gateways, Greener Logistics: Leveraging the Port Community System and National Single Window for Zero-Emission Trade.”_

Other speakers lined up for the event include Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho; Director-General of NIMASA, Dr. Dayo Mobereola; Director-General of Nigerian Ports Economic Regulatory Agency, NPERA, Barr. Pius Akutah; Special Adviser to Lagos Governor on Blue Economy and General Manager, LASWA, Mr. Oluwadamilola Emmanuel; Managing Director, Trucks Transit Parks, TTP, Mr. Jama Onwubuariri; and National Coordinator, National Single Window Secretariat, Mr. Tola Fakolade.

Dr. Okorefe, who is Managing Director of Kamany Marine Services Limited and author of ABC of Shipping and Ports’ Operation in Nigeria, also serves as South-South Coordinator of Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria, CIoTA. His presentation is expected to examine opportunities and challenges in developing smarter, connected and sustainable maritime gateways.

Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of Primetime Reporters, Mr. Saint Augustine Nwadinamuo, said the lecture will provide platform to assess ongoing reforms, improve port efficiency, reduce cargo dwell time and strengthen Nigeria’s competitiveness as maritime hub.

Particular attention will be given to Port Community System, PCS, and National Single Window, NSW, as instruments for streamlining cargo clearance, reducing paperwork and improving transparency.

The event will also feature presentation of 2026 Maritime and Blue Economy Awards to distinguished individuals and organisations based on merit and measurable contributions.

The lecture holds Thursday, October 15, 2026, at Rockview Hotels, GRA, Apapa, Lagos, by 10:00 a.m., and will be chaired by former DG of NIMASA, Barr. Temisan Omatseye.
