FOMI Season 11: Stella Bassey Leads Photo Challenge As Beauty Meets Maritime Purpose

By David Oladimeji

Stella Bassey has taken an early lead in the Season 11 Photo Challenge of Face of Maritime International (FOMI), polling 4,349 points to top 16 other contestants in the keenly contested challenge.

The FOMI Photo Challenge celebrates beauty, confidence, visibility and the growing participation of young women in the maritime industry.

Behind Bassey is Ifeoluwa Ige who secured second place with 3,791 points, while Adebayo Ajoke placed third with 3,497 points.

Adesewa Odunewu followed in fourth position with 3,130 points, while Emmanuella Obidigbo completed the top five with 2,853 points.

Other contestants in the ranking are Esther Akitoye (2,471) in sixth, Rokibat Olaoye (2,205) in seventh, and Priscillia Nambam (2,204) in eighth – a narrow one-point margin that underlines the competitiveness of the challenge.

At the lower end of the table are Precious Akan (1,346) 14th, Ayomide Abdulganiu (1,257)15th, and Vivian Chibuikem (1,138) 16th.

Beyond the scores, the Photo Challenge offers contestants a platform to gain visibility, build confidence and connect with wider audiences in an increasingly competitive digital space.

The competition is powered by the Girls Go-To-Sea Campaign Initiative, a non-governmental, non-profit organization championing gender advocacy and women empowerment in the Nigerian maritime sector – giving FOMI a maritime purpose beyond glamour.

For an industry linked to international trade, shipping and port operations, FOMI continues to drive conversations around inclusion and visibility of women by merging beauty with maritime advocacy.

While Bassey’s 4,349 points place her at the forefront of the published results, the final winner of Season 11 will only emerge after other hurdles ahead of the Grand Finale.
