Fulani Youths Vow To Offer Self Defense As Security Challenges Persist In Nigeria

A conglomeration of Fulani youths in the Western parts of the country have converged in Dutse the Jigawa state capital where they alleged fears over the lingering devastation of the country’s security architecture and vows to offer “Self defence” in protection of their lives and property.

“Taking this measures is imperative to us we the fulanis as we’re seen as Target in all security atrocities. Therefore we have no option rather than to stand firm to defend ourselves from any form of security threat’s”

The Congress which calls purposely to awaken the Fulani Youths on the importance of forming a strong front for “Self Defence” and projection of common unity amongst them attracted large crowd emanating from different Fulani groups under a common shade to be known and called Bandiraku Fulbe Youth Association of Nigeria, BFYAN.

In his address, the National President of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, Alh. Baba Usman Ngalzarma, the Tafida of Ngalzarma, enumerated the difficulties fulanis are going through in Nigeria today, some of which include taking over of cattle routes by governments at all levels and also by some powerful individuals. 

He recap back on the good policies of former Gov. Sule Lamido that turned Jigawa state to the Fulani Paradise/Heaven in Nigeria.

Alhaji Baba Usman expressed his dissatisfaction on how fulanis have been turned to hunting beings like bush meat, saying, the most surprising of all is how fulanis are being maltreated and hunted in sokoto the seat of Danfodio, the founder of the Fulani dynasty. 

He urged Jigawa state MACBAN to carry members of BFYAN along in all their activities.

Similarly, the National President of the Bandiraku Fulbe Association of Nigeria, BFYAN, Comrade Murtala Ja’afaru Julde, assured that, the association would embark on mass awareness campaign to enlighten the fulanis on government programmes to enable them benefit as citizens of Nigeria. He assured that, BFYAN will stand for all Fulani Youth in Nigeria and warned them against getting involved in negative acts that will tarnish the good image of the Fulani race.

During the Congress, an interim leadership of the association was formed and inaugurated. They includes Com Isa Abubakar, chairman, Usman Abdullahi, V/Chairman 1, Zainab Suleman, VC 11, Aad Muhammad, Secretary, Samila Dabo, Asst. Sec 1, Abubakar Ibrahim, Asst. Sec 11, Hauwa Dahiru, Treasurer, Tijjani Idris. Financial Sec and Sani Shehu, Welfare officer.
