Platforms Communications Appreciates Individuals, Organisations That Supported 2023 AMSAY Conference As It Begins Preparations For 2024 Edition

The 2023 AMSAY Conference Planning Committee and the Management of Platforms Communications have once again expressed their special appreciations and commendations to some individuals and corporate bodies who in one way or the other supported the 2023 Annual Maritime Students And Youth Conference (AMSAY). This is even as the organisers have announced commencement of plans and preparations towards holding the 2024 edition of the industry Conference.

In a press statement released over the weekend, the organisers once again thanked the individuals for sponsoring and giving out Cash Prizes to the Winners of various Best Graduating Maritime Students Awards (BEGMASA) honoured at the 2023 AMSAY  Conference. They are: 

1. Mrs Dabney Shall-Holma: Sponsor – BEGMASA for Shipping Management (N100,000).

2. Capt Segun Enitan: Sponsor –  Nautical Science (N50,000.

3. Engr Adeyinka Okunade: Sponsor –  Marine Engineering (N50,000).

4. Dr Chuks Onuoha: Sponsor –  Fisheries Technology (N100,000).

5. Barr Osuala Emma Nwagbara: Sponsor – Shipping & Admiralty Law (N50,000).

6. Alhaji Aminu Umar: Sponsor -Transport and Logistics (N100,000).

7. Mr Sylvanus Obasi – Sponsor – Maritime Security & Intelligent Mgt (N50,000).

8. Chief Dr George Moghalu: Sponsor –  Maritime Transportation and Business Mgt (N100,000).

9. Mrs Funmilayo Olotu: Sponsor – Best Female Maritime Student (N50,000).

10. Capt Sunday Umoren: Sponsor –  Overall Best Maritime Student (N100,000), and

11. Capt Dr Fola Ojutalayo, Sponsor AMSAY Conference Speech-Making Competition (N100,000) for the Winner and (N50,000) for the Runner Up.

According to the Convener, Mr Sylvanus Obasi ,”A total of N900,000 Cash Prizes were given out to these 12 exceptional maritime students in addition to the Award Plaques presented to them as motivation for their excellent academic performances”.

The company also thanked some government agencies and private companies for supporting the brand and ensuring that 2023 edition was a huge success.

“We specially thank the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) for their collaboration; the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA); National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA); GOG Marine; SIFAX Group, Sea Transport Nigeria Services Ltd; Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology; Nigerian Institute of Oceanography and Marine Research (NIOMR); Elkins Marine Training International; Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT); Prime Atlantic Safety Services; Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Econmoy, amongst others for their financial and morale support during the event”.

Meanwhile, the Management of Platforms Communications, organisers of the Annual Maritime Students And Youth Conference (AMSAY) also known as “A Day With Nigerian Maritime Students” has equally announced commencement of plans and preparations towards hosting the 2024 edition of the annual Conference.

According to the organisers, “this year, the  Conference will hold on Monday, May 27, 2024 with the theme, “SOLVING THE CHALLENGES OF NIGERIAN MARITIME STUDENTS”. As usual, highlights of the event will include: Paper Presentations; Panel Discussions; Interactive Session & Networking; AMSAY Speech-Making Competition; Presentation of Best Graduating Maritime Students Awards, and so much more”. Adding that details of the Conference will unfold in weeks and months to come.
