SIFAX Terminal Resumes Normal Operations After Disruptions Caused By Fire Incident

Ports & Cargo Handling Services Limited, a subsidiary of SIFAX Group has resumed normal operations after disruptions caused by fire incident which occurred last weekend at its terminal located at the Tin Can Island Port, Apapa, Lagos.

Speaking to Platform Reporters on Wednesday morning via the telephone, the Assistant Head of Corporate Communications of the company, Mr Phillip Ojo confirmed that normal operations have resumed at the terminal since Monday this week.

According to him, the inferno, which happened at the IT office, affected key IT equipment of the company, but did not result in any data loss due to the excellent back-up plan the company has put in place to safeguard its data.

Earlier in its press statement, the company thanked stakeholders for their solidarity over the incident.

“We want to thank all stakeholders who have expressed their concerns and solidarity over the incident. We are deeply grateful. 

“Appreciation also goes to the Customs Area Controller, Tin Can Island Command of the Nigerian Customs Service, Mr. Dera Nnadi, mni, and his team for their swift response after the incident”.
