Olomu Takes Over Apapa Customs Command As Jaiyeoba Retires

It was indeed a moment for encomiums and good wishes on Monday at the ultra modern Conference Hall of the Nigeria Customs Service, Apapa Command where the outgoing Comptroller Babajide Jaiyeoba handed over the mantle of leadership of the command to the incoming Dr. Babatunde Olomu as new Customs Area Controller of the Command.

The outgoing Controller who gave details of his almost eight months of stewardship, also used the occasion to mark his birthday.

Addressing the gathering Compt Jaiyeoba said he as afraid while taking over in September, 2023 when outgoing Controller then stated that 10 Billion Naira was made in a single day. However, it was on record that he also was able to realize the sum of 12 Billion Naira as revenue in a single day.

To the new Customs Area Controller, he too disclosed same fears when heard his predecessor made 12 Billions Naira in a single day. However, Comptroller Dr. Babatunde Olomu has promised to keep, maintain and sustain the tempo, being a representative of the incumbent CGC of Customs, Alhaji Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR.

Stakeholders, including Journalists and the DC Administration of the command, Deputy Comptroller of Customs, George O. Odusola all eulogized outgoing CAC and prayed for success of Comptroller Olomu.

The DC Admin prayed that “Almighty GOD may continue to enable the smiles, joy, good things of life continues as you step into retirement”.

To the incoming CAC, Odusola said “I seize this apple opportunity to rededicate unalloyed loyalty of entire officers/men of the command to him in achieving his service goals right in Apapa”.
