Vessels management company, LTT Coastal and Marine Services Ltd and the Tincan Island Command of the Nigeria Customs Service have bagged Special Recognition Awards from a leading maritime media giants, Platform Reporters for setting the pace in the Nigerian maritime sector.
While the L.T.T was recognised and honoured for setting the pace in ensuring gender parity onboard their vessels and fostering career development for female cadets and seafarers; the Tincan Island Customs Command was awarded for setting the pace in fostering Compliance, Trade Facilitation and revenue generation.
The Special Recognition Awards were presented to the two organisations at the just concluded 9th Grand Finale of Face Of Maritime International held last Sunday in Lekki-Lagos.
Speaking while making the award presentation to the receipients, the publisher and Editor-In-Chief of Platform Reporters, Mr Sylvanus Obasi stated that as watchdog of the industry, Platform Reporters have observed with keen interest, events and developments in the maritime sector in recent years, and have taken notice of the activities and exceptional achievements of the two organisations which necessitated their nomination for the awards.
He challenged the companies to continue to do more and not to rest on their oars in setting the pace in their respective fields of operations. Even as he called on other maritime companies to strive for excellence and impact in all that they do.
The FOMI 2024 Grand Finale and Award Night was well attended by maritime dignitaries including Ship owners, professional bodies, career civil servants and women groups in the sector.
